Edge developed an organisational-LCA for Singtel/Optus, including environmental and social assessment. The social risks analysis related to the company’s direct operations as well as the indirect activities through its supply chain across Australia and Singapore.
The social analysis first focused on the generic risks related to the communication sector and evaluated these risks against Singtel/Optus activity. Edge then undertook a direct analysis to analyse sector and geographic-specific social risks for all categories of suppliers and identify hotspots. The social risks hotspots were used to inform the sustainable supply chain management program.
